January 22-24, 2025, 3–6 PM–Conflict, Communication & Culture: Introduction to Mediation & Restorative Practices (8 training hours – online via Zoom)
Gain valuable conflict tools and increase your communication skills in a supportive setting in this Introduction to Mediation & Restorative Practices.
The training helps to develop your own conflict style with collaborative tools to resolve conflict in healthy, effective ways, navigating trauma, bias, culture and blocks to effective listening, a prerequisite to mediation and facilitation trainings with Advoz.
This online (Zoom) training is a prerequisite for all other Advoz training courses.
January 28 – February 1, 2025 – Basic Mediation Training (24 training hours)
Learn and practice the facilitative model of conflict mediation, including a range of mediation techniques adaptable to resolving a wide range of disputes.
Learn to empower, support and guide parties toward resolution in such disputes as neighbors, family members and workplace employees and employers, including navigating key ethical issues particularly relevant to practicing mediation in Pennsylvania.
Requiring the CCC training as a prerequisite, this training emphasizes practicing in numerous roleplay scenarios to ensure quality practice and skill development.Note: The Conflict, Communication & Culture course is required to take this Advoz training.

February 19-21, 2025 – Circle Process Training (21 training hours)
Learn to build community and address tough issues and harmful incidents in groups of 5-20 people using a Restorative Circle Process.
Drawing from indigenous traditions of inclusive and structured group methods, the Circle Process requires facilitator skills both to conduct and to trust the group’s capacity for addressing its needs and challenges. Note: The Conflict, Communication & Culture course is required to take this Advoz training.
Circle training occurs three days: Wednesday through Friday, February 19-21, 2025, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm in Lancaster.
April 29 – May 17, 2025 - Restorative Justice Victim-Offender Conferencing Training (23 training hours plus asynchronous online coursework)
Want to facilitate often transformative exchanges between those who’ve caused harm, and those impacted? Advoz’s Restorative Justice program equips volunteers to help youth who’ve caused harm take responsibility directly with those impacted, crime victims, to cultivate a resilient and responsible generation of young people.
This interactive training equips you to facilitate restorative “conferencing” dialogue and to understand the local juvenile criminal-legal systems in which that dialogue takes place.
This course includes online asynchronous components,2-3 hours of self-directed learning in between live sessions.The introductoryAdvoz Conflict, Communication & Culture trainingis also required to receive a certificate, and you will need to register for both trainings separately.
